Class 12, and meet the physical requirements Required
Airlines set minimum age, height and reach requirements, and a medical standard. Establish whether you meet them before spending anything, because they are not negotiable.
Understand what the job actually is Required
Cabin crew exist to manage an emergency evacuation. Service is what you do when nothing is going wrong. The training, the recurrent checks and the licensing all reflect that, and grooming schools that sell this as a glamour career are misrepresenting it.
Apply directly to airlines Required
Airlines recruit directly and train their own crew. A private aviation or grooming course is optional - it is not a requirement, and paying heavily for one before any airline offer is a well-known way to lose money.
Complete the airline training Required
Safety and Emergency Procedures training approved by DGCA, first aid, dangerous goods, security, and service. The SEP examination must be passed and is repeated as a recurrent check every year.
Fly Required
Irregular rosters, night flights, time away from home and physically demanding work. The first two years are the test of whether the life suits you rather than the job.
Senior crew, purser, or move into training and ground roles Optional
Senior cabin crew and cabin supervisor, then cabin crew training, recruitment or airline ground management. International carriers recruit Indian crew and pay substantially more.
