Terms of use

The rules for using this site, in readable English.

These terms govern your use of IndianCareerGuide. They are written to be understood by a student and a parent, not only by a lawyer. Using the site means you accept them.

Section 1

Accepting these terms

By accessing or using IndianCareerGuide ("the site", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms of use and to our privacy policy and disclaimer, which form part of these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site.

If you are under 18, please read these terms together with a parent, guardian or teacher. Education decisions taken on the basis of this site should involve an adult who knows your circumstances.

Section 2

What the site provides

IndianCareerGuide is an independent educational information and guidance resource. It publishes information about education stages, courses, entrance examinations, careers and related pathways in India, along with comparison and planning tools.

The site is an information resource. It is not:

  • An examination authority, university, college, school or training institute.
  • An admission, counselling, placement or recruitment service.
  • A provider of professional career counselling, legal, financial, medical or immigration advice.
  • An agent of, or officially affiliated with, any institution or government body named on the site.

Names of examinations, universities and institutions are used descriptively, to identify what is being discussed. Their use does not imply any endorsement of, affiliation with, or approval by those bodies.

Section 3

Accuracy and verification

We take reasonable care to keep information correct and current, and we revise records each admission cycle. Even so, eligibility rules, examination patterns, dates, fees and seat structures in India change frequently, sometimes at short notice.

You must verify anything you rely on. Before applying, paying a fee or making an admission decision, confirm the current position directly with the official examination authority, university, institution or state counselling portal. Information here is a starting point, never the final word.

Salary figures, fee ranges, durations and seat numbers are indicative typical ranges for India, presented to help comparison. They are not guarantees, offers, or predictions about any individual's outcome.

Section 4

Acceptable use

You may use the site freely for personal, educational and non-commercial guidance purposes. You agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data, whether manually or using automated tools, without our written permission.
  • Republish substantial portions of the content as your own, or present it as coming from an official authority.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its administrative area, servers or databases.
  • Probe, scan, overload or disrupt the site, or circumvent any security, rate-limiting or access-control measure.
  • Introduce malware, or use the site to distribute unlawful, misleading or harmful material.
  • Misrepresent yourself as connected with IndianCareerGuide, or use our name or branding to solicit money, documents or personal data from students.

We may restrict or block access where use appears abusive, automated or harmful to the site or its users.

Section 5

Intellectual property

The content, structure, design, data organisation, text and branding of this site are owned by IndianCareerGuide or used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You may read, print and share individual pages for personal, educational or classroom use, provided you do not alter them and you credit IndianCareerGuide with a link to the page. Any other reproduction, redistribution, commercial use or creation of derivative works requires our prior written permission.

Examination names, institution names, logos and trademarks referred to on the site belong to their respective owners.

Section 7

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Access may be suspended for maintenance, upgrades, security work or reasons beyond our control.

We may add, change, suspend or remove any part of the site — including features, content and tools — at any time, without notice and without liability. Features marked "coming soon" are indicative plans, not commitments to deliver on any date.

Section 8

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You use the information on this site at your own discretion and risk, and you remain responsible for the education, career and financial decisions you make. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IndianCareerGuide and the people involved in producing it will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including missed deadlines, rejected applications, examination outcomes, admission decisions, fees paid, or reliance on information that later changed or proved inaccurate.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indian law.

Section 9

Accounts and future services

Student accounts are not currently available. When accounts, saved shortlists, institution profiles or the AI advisor are introduced, additional terms will apply to those services and will be published before they launch.

Any tools that generate suggestions — including AI-assisted features — will remain informational. They will not constitute professional counselling and must still be verified against official sources.

Section 10

Changes, governing law and contact

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies from the "last updated" date shown above, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.

Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact page.

These terms describe our intended position and are not legal advice. Before public launch they should be reviewed by a qualified Indian lawyer, along with the registered entity name, address, jurisdiction clause and grievance officer details.
