Selection is exceptionally competitive, with written, interview and medical stages, and the medical standards eliminate many otherwise capable candidates. You commit to a service obligation, so this is not a degree you can take and walk away from. Sea deployments mean long absences from family. Military discipline is total and personal autonomy over posting and career path is limited. Consider seriously whether the life, not just the degree, is what you want.

The 10+2 B.Tech cadet entry shortlists on JEE Main rank - there is no separate written paper. The NDA route through UPSC is the alternative and leads to the same service by a different path.
Clear the Services Selection Board Required
Five days of screening, psychological testing, group tasks and interview. The SSB rejects far more candidates than the written stage does, and it cannot be crammed for.
Pass the medical Required
Naval medical standards, particularly vision. Candidates clear SSB and are rejected here every year, so get an honest assessment early rather than late.
Four years at the Indian Naval Academy Required
A full B.Tech at Ezhimala alongside military training, with pay from day one. You are commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant on completion.
Commissioned service and specialisation Required
Executive, engineering or electrical branch, then specialisation - submarines, aviation, gunnery, hydrography. It is a permanent commission with a full career and pension, which is exactly what Agniveer entry is not.

What is the Navy 10+2 B.Tech entry?
<p>A route straight from Class 12 into a four-year B.Tech at the Indian Naval Academy, fully funded, with a permanent commission as an officer at the end. Selection is based on JEE Main rank followed by the Services Selection Board and a medical. Very few Class 12 PCM students know it exists.</p>
