Learn measurement and inspection Required

Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, gauges and CMM, plus reading GD&T from a drawing. Measurement uncertainty and calibration are part of the job, not an afterthought.

Learn the quality system Required

Inspection plans, control charts, non-conformance handling and 8D problem solving. ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 awareness is expected in automotive supply.

Quality engineer or QA supervisor Optional

Supplier quality, customer complaints and audits. A part-time diploma and a Six Sigma green belt are the usual next credentials.
