What the trade is
Two years after Class 10. The trade behind installed electronics — security systems, instrumentation, and the equipment that has to keep working rather than be replaced.
What you learn
Components and circuits, soldering and board work, test instruments, power supplies, and the digital and communication systems behind installed equipment. Board-level fault finding is the part that separates a technician from a parts-swapper, and the part short private courses skip.
Who it suits
Precise, patient people with good eyesight and fine motor control. CCTV and security installation has grown from a niche into a standing requirement for offices, housing societies and shops, and industrial instrumentation pays better than consumer work.
The honest part
Consumer electronics repair has been squeezed by cheap replacement and by manufacturers restricting parts and diagnostics. The money has moved to installed and industrial systems. Choose an institute with a working lab: this trade cannot be learned from a whiteboard.
