Exam overview
This exam has been discontinued. TISS stopped running its own national entrance test from the 2025-26 admission cycle. There is no TISSNET to register for.
How TISS admission works now. Most master programmes at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences admit through CUET PG, conducted by the National Testing Agency. Three management programmes admit through CAT, conducted by the IIMs. Which one applies depends on the specific programme, so check the programme page on the TISS admissions site before you register for anything — registering for the wrong test costs you a full year, because both run once annually.
What has not changed. TISS itself, its programmes and its reputation in social work, development studies, human resources and public policy are all unchanged. Only the entrance route is different. If you were preparing for TISSNET, most of that preparation transfers — CUET PG tests a similar mix of general awareness, reasoning and subject knowledge, though the pattern and timing are NTA's rather than TISS's.
Confirm the current requirement on the TISS admissions pages for the year you are applying in. Institutions do change these arrangements, and this one changed recently.
