The honest part
A B.Sc alone does not make you a Registered Dietitian for clinical settings. That credential needs postgraduate study, an internship and the Indian Dietetic Association examination. Starting pay is often around ₹18,000 to ₹35,000 a month. Private college fees can reach ₹6 lakh for the full course, so compare the fee with your family budget and likely first-job pay.
The degree still gives you a useful base in clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets and community nutrition. You can look at work in hospitals, clinics, fitness and wellness centres, food companies, ICDS public health programmes and sports academies. A government or university seat, where available, costs far less than many private options. Further study through an M.Sc can open the route towards RD certification.
Students who do well take the science seriously, especially biology and the link between disease and diet. They build experience through internships and learn to explain food plans in simple language, not only write them. They also choose their next step early: clinical work and RD certification, sports nutrition, public health, or wellness consulting.
