Institutional admission test for eligible integrated first-degree programs at BITS campuses.
Who can appear
Eligibility to appear
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology, plus language/proficiency conditions, according to the selected first-degree program. BITS specifies marks, subject combinations, year-of-passing and direct-admission provisions in each current admission cycle.
Eligibility to appear is not the same as eligibility to be admitted. Individual institutions add their own criteria on top of the exam's rules.
Overview
What this exam is
The admission test for the integrated first-degree programmes at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science campuses. Admission is decided purely on the test score subject to meeting the board-marks requirement, with no interview or counselling weighting.
Subjects
What the paper tests
Physics, chemistry and mathematics, plus English proficiency and logical reasoning - the last two are unusual among engineering entrance tests and are frequently neglected. The paper is computer-based and speed-oriented, with more questions than most candidates complete.
PreparationPlan
How to prepare
Speed matters more here than on most engineering papers; the science is not harder than the national tests but the time per question is shorter, so drilling for pace is the main adjustment. Do not skip English and logical reasoning - they are easy marks that candidates routinely surrender. Board marks are a hard eligibility gate independent of your test score.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Are board marks part of the selection?
They are an eligibility gate rather than part of the merit score - you must meet the stated Class 12 requirement to be considered, but admission itself is decided on the test score. Both matter, in different ways.
Why do candidates run out of time?
Because the paper is deliberately speed-oriented, with more questions than most candidates complete. The science is not harder than the national engineering tests; the time per question is shorter, and that is the adjustment to train for.
Can I skip English and logical reasoning?
No, and doing so surrenders easy marks. These sections are unusual among engineering entrances and are routinely neglected, which means they are also where a prepared candidate gains ground cheaply.
Is there any counselling or interview?
Admission is decided on the test score subject to eligibility, without interviews or subjective weighting. That makes the process unusually predictable compared with routes that involve counselling discretion.
