  • You are considering roles such as insurance underwriter, insurance advisor, wealth manager, relationship manager, stock broker or trader.
  • You want an undergraduate qualification before moving to a Master of Commerce or MBA.
  • You prefer studying on campus for 36 months rather than taking a short-term course.

08 · The honest part

The honest part

BBI is a three-year on-campus degree, so you need to attend classes regularly and manage the cost of a full undergraduate course. Entry rules also differ by college. Some ask for commerce or mathematics in Class 12, while others use an entrance process. A BBI degree alone does not settle your next step. You may still need to compete for a job, prepare for further study, or build skills outside class.

The course gives you a focused base for banking and insurance-related work instead of a broad commerce degree. It links to paths such as insurance underwriting, advisory work, wealth management, stock broking and trading. If you later want a wider business or commerce qualification, MCom and MBA are possible progression routes. That helps if you prefer to keep your options open after graduation.

Students who do well usually take the subject beyond exam notes. They follow how banking, insurance and markets work, learn to read numbers carefully, and improve their communication with clients and colleagues. They also choose their direction early, because an actuary, an underwriter and a relationship manager need different strengths.
