Understand the exam
Exam overview
The undergraduate exam has been discontinued. ICAR withdrew the separate AIEEA UG entrance in 2023. If you are applying for a B.Sc Agriculture or an allied undergraduate programme, this is not the exam you need.
What replaced it. Undergraduate admission to ICAR-recognised and deemed universities now runs through CUET (ICAR-UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency as part of the common university entrance test. You register through the CUET UG process and select the agriculture universities and subject papers relevant to your applications.
The postgraduate exam still exists. ICAR AIEEA PG continues to be conducted by NTA for admission to master programmes at ICAR universities, with roughly eleven thousand PG seats. That is a separate exam with its own notification, and it is covered on its own page.
Why this catches people out. Older guidance, coaching material and school notice boards still refer to "ICAR AIEEA" as a single undergraduate entrance, because it was one for many years. A student following that advice prepares for and tries to register for an exam that has not run since 2022. Check the current CUET UG notification for the year you are applying in, and confirm which universities and papers you need to select.
